ALBAWABA - A video captured by the European Space Agency showed the magnificent Sun's solar rain, which many warned might mean new solar storms that could lead to major internet cuts in the world.

The Solar Orbiter spacecraft caught the video of the Sun's atmosphere for examination purposes. It explained that the sun’s landscape includes coronal moss, solar rain and 6,000-mile-tall spires of gas, The Guardian reported Friday.

Furthermore, feathery, hair-like structures made of plasma as well as eruptions and showers of relatively cooler material falling to the surface were also seen in the clip.

Commenting on the video, Dr David Long, a solar physicist at Dublin City University and Solar Orbiter scientist, said: "It is really gorgeous when you see it happening."

He added: "It kind of comes and goes – you see showers of it around solar flares."

The clip also showed the coronal rain, which at less than 10,000C looks dark in the face of the bright background of large coronal loops (about 1,000,000C).

The reason behind studying the sun is that scientists want to find an answer to the question "Why the sun’s atmosphere is so much hotter than its surface?".

However, many took to social media wondering if these phenomena grabbed in the video could mean that the Earth is about to witness new solar storms and new waves which could eventually lead to internet interruption.
