ALBAWABA - A Moroccan influencer documented in a video how she was abused by a French man who spit on her hijab in Paris.

Fatima Saidi, 22, exposed what she experienced in a post on her Instagram. She explained that while she was walking near the Eiffel Tower along with her friend last Wednesday, a man who was jogging approached her and assaulted her.

The Moroccan influencer wrote: "In summary: travelling to Paris 🇫🇷 as a Muslim Hijabi is very fun except for when a racist Parisian man spits on your Hijab cuz he thinks he’s better than you. 10/10 experience 💋 (note the irony)."

She was shocked and added in an Instagram post: "This was shocking to me as someone who never got hate crimed in Spain and always had the best treatment from people."

Fatima Saidi further added that she took a video of the incident stressing that the French man should be punished for spitting on her hijab saying he "messed with the wrong girl."

Saidi continued: "People like him need to face consequences of their actions. He knows we are 2 harmless girls, so he used his white male privilege against us."

Anger emerged online saying hate crimes and Islamophobia are on the rise across Europe stressing that especially in France which in 2004 banned headscarves in schools, and in 2010, it passed a ban on full-face veils in public.
