ALBAWABA - Tensions between Egypt and Israel have surfaced during continuing discussions over a possible prisoner swap; reports suggest that Egypt is frustrated that Israel is unwilling to sign onto a proposed accord that Cairo is mediating.

The Financial Times said that Israeli officials indicated Egypt's frustration with Israel's refusal to approve Cairo's accord. The Hamas plan resembled one Israel supported.

Meanwhile, the White House reiterated the urgency of securing a ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing the need for both parties to reach an agreement swiftly.

Based on negotiating materials, US National Security Council strategic policy coordinator John Kirby voiced cautious hope on Hamas-Israel reconciliation. He hoped for a quick conclusion but did not foresee a date.

Delegations from Doha, Washington, Hamas, Israel, and Egyptian security officials have resumed discussions.

According to Reuters and Cairo International Airport sources, CIA Director William Burns returned to Cairo for further ceasefire and prisoner swap talks.

Hamas' deputy head in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, stated Tuesday evening that its team has arrived in Cairo to begin discussions with Egyptian and Qatari mediators.

On Tuesday, the Israeli negotiation team, consisting of Mossad and Shin Bet agents, arrived in Cairo, signaling a strategic change with senior leadership absent.
