ALBAWABA – Meta is still striving on improving its Twitter competitive app, Threads, by adding requested features in hopes to keep its recently peaked at 150 million monthly active users base grow steadily, with Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, announcing new functionalities being tested.

In his post, Mosseri notes that some users are receiving the ability to manually archive posts, which would behave like in Instagram where an archived post may be hidden from a user’s profile unless they decide to unarchive it and bring it to light again.

However, a possibly more impressive tool users may have, is the ability to set an automatic archive timer, where users’ posts may be archived automatically after being shared for a customizable amount of time, noting that this feature was meant to be defaulted yet users’ argued otherwise, so it would be an option for those who want.

While these features are still being tested with limited availability to a small user base without a clear release date yet, it appears to be a direct win over X (formerly Twitter), which its users have long asked for an option to hide old Tweets without the need to completely delete them from their profile.

Archiving features are just the recent in a list of updates Threads has had since its launch last July, with Meta adding an option to sort searched threads by time rather than relevancy, a much-requested web app, and the ability to edit posts after sharing with the audience.
