Sebastian Rees is a journalist and researcher currently based in Sydney. He is a recent first class graduate in History and Politics from the University of Oxford, specialising in Imperial and Global History and the politics of the contemporary Middle East.
His work ranges over a wide geographical area but focuses on sectarian and ethnic violence, populist and extremist movements, and religious politics. Most importantly, he seeks to integrate nuanced historical analysis within discussions of contemporary global politics.
